Today is all about my best wattpad books. Wattpad is mostly a place of love. I once said that there’s the ice-cream love and the pepper soup love. Peppersoup is a popular Nigerian soup. It is a somewhat clear soup made up of mostly water, seasoning, pepper and meat/fish/chicken. It’s one of the most enjoyed soups in Nigeria, but you got to know how to withstand the pepper, because it is peppery, that’s how it got the name.
So back to ice-cream love. It’s that kind of love that’s calm, cool, not in a rush, taking things one step at a time, little by little, so you don’t get a brain freeze. It can be seen as the old school love.
The pepper soup love is just like the peppersoup. it is hot, more brash and spontaneous. There are grand gestures, public displays of affection, jealous fits, heated declarations of love.
That’s how I categorize love on Wattpad. Do you get the picture now?
Lest I digress further, we shall get down to my best wattpad books for now. I am going to try to do this without much spoilers.
My best wattpad books
1. The Storm and Silence Series
“it’s your choice” he said, stepping so close to me that our lips were almost touching. “Either do what I say – or get another job.”
My heart stood still as I gazed up into his deep, dark, dangerous eyes…
In a world where women’s only role is to sit at home and look pretty, Lily is determined to fight for her freedom.
There’s only one problem: a powerful man blocking her way.
Oh Lily! She’s a feminist.
This is a hilarious romance novel by Rob Their. From the banter between Lillian Linton (Lily) and Mr Rikkard Ambrose, a stone-cold business mogul, to the outstanding Linton family. Set in the Victorian era where women are not allowed to vote or work, Lily is sure out to oppose this view, with her lovely friends by her side.
Lily is hired by Mr Rikkard Ambrose, on a condition that she dresses like a man, as Mr Ambrose has refused to have a woman work for him. She refuses to be put in a corner, and drags herself into the life of Me Ambrose, might I add. Those two are a real pair.
This book is in the 5th of its series. First was ‘Storm and Silence’, then ‘In the eye of the Storm’, ‘Silence is Golden’, ‘Silence Breaking’, and now we’re on ‘Hunting for Silence’. Rob Their so far, has been consistent in his updates. He updates every Wednesday.
2. Bereft Series
She was a woman with vengeance on her mind. He was a demon with nothing left to lose.
Sacrificed by an anonymous cult, Sara Gaspard is rescued by the Sin of Pride before she can be murdered in cold blood. In exchange for her soul, the Sin prolongs Sara’s imminent end and promises to hunt down her would-be murderers, but the resolution isn’t as simple as either of them had hoped. Sara and Pride wander into a twisted world of paranormal disaster and occult fanaticism, living in a city filled with perils neither expect. The dying girl and immortal demon must find the cult before the danger haunting Verweald’s street claims them both.
Here comes the ice-cream love people! We are currently on the 4th book in this series — Bereft > Bereft; Demise > Bereft; Foretold > Bereft; Ignite.
This book is paranormal, fantasy, and supernatural like none other, and that’s what I love most about it. There’s also a sprinkle of romance between the two main characters — Sara and Pride (Darius).
This is a world where the seven sins — Pride, Lust, Sloth, Envy, Greed, Gluttony and Wrath — walk the earth. They take a host, fulfill a wish, and take the life of that goat afterwards. This makes them stronger. Darius finds a host in Sara after her sister is killed in a ritual. However, there’s something about Sara that makes Darius reluctant to take her life.
3. The Cellar
For months, summer is trapped in a cellar with the man who took her and three other girls: Rose, Poppy, and Violet. His perfect, pure flowers. His family.
But flowers can’t survive long cut off from the sun, and time is running out…
Ooooooh! Mystery and horror.
Clover 🍀 is a bit of a psycho and he wants to ‘grow’ a family. He kidnaps some girls and names them after flowers. He thinks they should be “perfect” and he likes them “pure and pretty”. He likes things spotless, he wants his girls perfect, he wants a family, but soon things turn bad. The sequel is ‘His’.
No spoilers 😋
This is a must-read for everybody. This book is amazing like… .common Fayth! It’s incomplete and the author has not been consistent in her updates for over a year now. Despite that, it’s still one of my favorites.
The best thing about this book is the suspense and mystery. She takes you a step further and then two steps backwards, just to make you question the first step. It’s insane!
Fayth is a big mystery with a past that even you can’t figure out. However, Lexis, another big mystery himself, is determined to find out. The writer has the insane ability to change Point of Views and make them individually unique. F.A.I.T.H — Fundamental Adolescence Institution for the Troubled and Hesitant — is a school of sorts. Everyone is important. Everyone has a secret.
5. Confessions About Colton
“Seven letters, seven confessions, seven clues”
…This is a scavenger hunt to capture a killer and the outcome is destined to end with a bullet and a bang. Elliot is about to learn how to appreciate well-crafted minds…and also fear them.
You know how I said Wattpad is a place of love? Well, this is one book that isn’t about love. Well love, but the agape love.
Colton disappears and reappears, then he’s found dead. Only seven letters can lead to the discovery of what happened to Colton.
Elliot Parker, his closest companion, is one who finds the first letter, with words — “I killed Colton Crest” — inside. This then leads to the discovery of the other six letters. Colton’s death is a mystery, and the discovery will shock you.
Honestly, I expected a love story when I started this book, but I his is even better. One of my bests so far.
6. After Triology
Tessa Young is an 18 year old college student with a simple life, excellent grades, and a sweet boyfriend. She always has things planned out ahead of time, until she meets a rude boy named Harry, with too many tattoos and piercings who shatters her plans.
Now, here’s a ‘peppersoup’ love story. I particularly love the ability of the author to keep me hooked till the end of the third book.
This book is about a rollercoaster relationship between Harry and Tessa. It reminds me of the book; ‘Kissing is the Easy Part’, by. It shows that getting a boyfriend can be the easiest part of being in a relationship. The work comes in maintaining that relationship.
We have selfish, protective, demanding, ‘bad-boy’ Harry (and it’s not cliché), and the undeniably beautiful ‘good-girl’ Tessa. Tessa is a game at first, and then the ride goes down. Their love story is similar to that of Catherine and Heathcliff in ‘Withering Heights’ by Emily Bronte. It also led me to read that book.
This book was written in 2014, and the movie adaptation is ongoing.
7. The Heartbroken Heartbreaker
My major reason for loving this book so much is the ending.
I’ve always talked about how things don’t always end the way we want it to. Life can spring up surprises, and in this book, they end as strangers.
